The Society for Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy seeks submissions for its annual Founders’ Award, an annual prize of $500 for the best paper on Medieval or Renaissance philosophy by a younger scholar.
Graduate students and recent PhDs (within the last five years) should submit paper to the Vice President of the SMRP, Tamar Rudavsky (firstname.lastname@example.org) by April 1, 2017.
In addition to the $500 prize, the award recipient will be invited to present his or her research at an SMRP session at the APA Eastern Division Conference in January 2018 and may apply for up to $500 to assist with travel expenses.
Submissions may include: (a) the actual text of a lecture delivered or to be delivered within the last year (though short, informal talks are not suitable); (b) essays that have not been published or accepted for publication in an academic journal or book at the time of submission; or (c) articles or chapters submitted for publication or forthcoming but not yet in print.
Entries must be prepared for blind review (including the elimination of meta-data from the electronic file) and should include an abstract of not more than 200 words.
